St. Patrick's Day in Kindergarten

Wow! What a crazy day! We were so ready to catch Lucky the Leprechaun this year. I was sure it was the year we could get his gold! Check out the slideshow on the right to see how our day went. It seems that while Mrs. Johnson (Samuel's mom) and I went to pick up the kids from lunch, Lucy came into our room (who knows how)! He trashed our room and took our gold! Then, as Zoey put it, "He sent us on a wild goose chase," to try to get our gold back!!!:o) We got back to our room and finally found our gold. We had fun in Kindergarten today! Ask your child where St. Patrick was born. They should be able to tell you that he was born in Rome, moved to England as a child. Then he was kidnapped and made a slave in Ireland. There he had a dream where God told him to escape. He ran away from his slavery (he was a shepard,) and went back to Rome. There he found his country destroyed. He left and went to France to study and become a priest. He later had another dream where God told him to go back to Ireland and teach the people how to read, write, and become a Christian. He lived there until he died.

Thank you so much for helping your child build a trap. We had so much fun learning about Ireland and all of the customs and traditions for holidays. Enjoy our slide show on the right of this screen! :o)~
